For the Corvette Z06, we sound designed several vignettes that formed part of a larger documentary on the new car. We had an exciting range of authentic engine recordings to work with, and highlighted these explosive sounds by contrasting them with moments of quiet and calm.

The variation in these spots offered us the opportunity for lots of experimentation: a crackling welding iron, the electric whir of a sewing machine, the slosh of a wide river, and a variety of cinematic hits and whooshes as the car races past buildings and trees. In the finale of the “Take it To the Track” piece, as the picture stutters on and off, we took a recording of an automatic assault rifle and hit it with a low pass filter, creating a percussive and energetic effect that heightens drama as the car speeds towards the camera.
