maserati “magic city”
In this music-forward spot, a pulsing back beat propels the action forward, with throaty engine sounds used as a counterpoint. A number of sonic flourishes add spice throughout: a low boom as the lights change from white to a dramatic purple, the electronic chirp of the neon flamingos, and the crackle of the radio as the signal comes to life.
Since this spot is set in Miami, it was important to capture the feeling of driving on real streets. So as the car rounds a corner, you hear the engine echoing off the concrete buildings, and the screech of the tires on the tarmac. Various drops and whooshes add drama to the journey, while the drive through the tunnel creates a natural sonic conclusion. As the MC20 logo is finally revealed, a low, subtle hit acts as a closing punctuation mark.
